Fire & Security Installation Engineer

Who you will be working for :

Our client, established in Bristol for 37 years, has achieved consistent growth year on year from its early beginnings and developed into one of the leading and most respected electrical contractors within the Bristol region working with many national as well as local main contractors and end user clients.

In 2023 this has been further enhanced with the addition of a Fire & Security Division, enabling both Clients and Contractors to deal solely for all their Building Services requirements, including the maintenance and monitoring of systems once installed.

Job Overview

We are seeking 2 multi skilled fire and security engineers to carry out installations of systems in commercial applications.

As a Service Engineer you will carry out the routine maintenance of Fire Alarms, Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Portable Extinguishers, Disabled refuge and call/toilet systems, smoke vents, dampers, Emergency Lighting, in accordance with the current Standards and Codes of Practice.

Duties

  • Installation and testing to the relevant codes of practice
  • Excellent communication through all levels of the contract chain
  • Servicing Fire and Security Systems - Intruder Alarms, Access Control, CCTV and Fire Alarm Systems (Both addressable and conventional panels)
  • Able to manage installation from start up through to completion
  • Diagnose faults using a pragmatic approach
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, ensuring that installations meet design specifications.

Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge related to building systems and construction practices.
  • Experience with system design, particularly in relation to fire and security applications.
  • Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in installation processes.
  • Understanding of electrical systems as they pertain to fire safety equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Knowledge and experience :
  • Product knowledge being desired:
  • Intruder - Texecom, Scantronic, Menvier, and Risco
  • Access Control - Paxton and PAC
  • CCTV - Hikvision, Bosch and Dahua
  • Fire - Notifier, Gent, Advanced Morely, C-Tec and Protec
  • Full UK Driving licence - Clean licence being desired.
  • Must be able to pass Security Screening
Package:
  • Monday to Friday - 40 Hours
  • Overtime
